MJ has been pretty absent for some time... This feels Elvis big. I remember when Elvis died. I had just started to know who Elvis was and BAM he was gone. I'm wondering what the death of MJ will do to the kids who are just 7 or 8 year's old now. They will never know MJ as anything but that guy from the videos, just like my only recollection of Elvis is that guy from the Oldies Station and Movies (and a brief appearance in Forrest Gump). I feel quite strongly about husbands needing to step up - I keep being challenged by that passage in Ephesians 5, especially since there are 9 verses aimed at the husbands vs. 3 for the women. I look forward to your take on this sad tale. Thanks for coming by Samantha. I plan on blogging about their situation soon too and marriage all together. It's neat to see a male's perspective on what the husband should have been doing (standing up, showing he's the leader, and not being passive aggressive). While both are at fault I'm sure, there's a whole lot the husband probably could have done on his part. Appreciate the way you wrote this. We've got some ideas for the start of the school year and for Christmas already. But there will be more in between all that... It's clear in our town, coffeehouse ministry definitely works... I sense a great new movement sweeping through this country. Not only is the Church a great lifeline for a vast number of newly poor, but our mission giving and understanding has been greatly activated over the past few years. As I said to someone in New Orleans earlier this year, "Katrina was a gut check for Christians everywhere..." We seem to be moving away from wrapping a flag around our Christian faith and moving towards a mission spirit. You are blessed with God's spirit. Keep the flame alive. We need to see as He sees, not as we see, which is way too close to the ground. Amen, brother. We need to see as He sees, not as we see, which is way too close to the ground.

Pray for the world's leadership that instead of spending time trying to be top dog, they'll start looking to those who need the most help. Pray too, for the rest of us, that we might do what we can to alleviate the suffering in this world. And mostly, Pray to God, that He will allow us to accomplish His glorious task. Yes, I am still reading this. I really like this book. Thanks for the review. Andy,
